Each Term the Little Fishes staff work hard to plan a variety of activities to help the children with their learning and make their experience of preschool full of memories. Here you can see just some of the activities the children have been taking part in each term.
`
Spring was such a busy Term. We visited the local library, started our beach school and sang with STBBC’s Singing for the Brain. We were lucky to have had a visit from a Fire Engine and a police lady and her dog. We also celebrated Chinese New year, Valentines Day, Pancake Day, World Book Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.
Autumn 2024
After a lovely long summer break we welcomed lots of new little Fishes to the Preschool. Our focus at the start of every Autumn term is to help the children settle after a long break with friends/family. This term we prepared for a harvest festival, did some vegetable printing, celebrated fireworks night and made poppies. We also had a lovely trip to the local library, we turned the setting into a cinema for the afternoon, had a visit from a Magician and also managed some improvised gymnastics all led by the children. Over The Halloween period we made pumpkin soup and explored different foods, we also visited the group “singing for the brain people” and practised some of our wonderful Christmas songs ready for our end of term Nativity.
Summer 2024
The summer term is always an exciting time with lots going on and a chance to prepare our leavers for Big School. To help them prepare we let them practice getting their uniforms on and off. We talk lots about what to expect when they get to their new schools and try to help them with any worries they may have.
We also had great fun at our pirate themed Sports Day, played more football with Southend United, had an amazing trip to the The Sealife Centre, as well as enjoying the sunshine in our amazing garden. We also learnt all about the Solar system and watched caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies.
